(RTTNews) - Malta's producer prices decreased for the eleventh consecutive month in August, data released by the National Statistics Office revealed Thursday.
The producer price index for the entire industry declined 2 percent annually in August, marking the eleventh consecutive fall. In July, output prices had decreased 2.9 percent.
Prices of intermediate goods decreased 4.3 percent, while prices of capital and consumer goods increased 1.1 percent and 2.1 percent respectively. Meanwhile, energy prices remained unchanged year-on-year.
Overall producer prices for the domestic market were higher by 0.8 percent than a year earlier, and those for the overseas market lower by 3.8 percent, data showed.
On a monthly basis, the producer price index advanced 1.4 percent in August, after edging up 0.1 percent in July, the agency said.
