Suicide Bomb Attack Kills Foreigners In Afghanistan
245 days ago
(RTTNews) - A dozen people, including eight foreigners, were killed in a suicide bomb attack on a minibus carrying foreigners near the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday, reports said.
The vehicle came under attack on a major highway leading to the Kabul international airport.
A young woman suicide-bomber drove an explosives-laden car into a minibus transporting foreigners working at the airport. Nationalities of the victims are not known.
Pro-Taliban militant group Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin has claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was in response to the online video film that mocks prophet Mohammed, which triggered anti-Western violent protests across the Muslim world.
The attack occurred hours after the Commander of NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) ordered his troops to halt some joint operations with their Afghan counterparts in the wake of increasing "insider attacks" on American and NATO troops by their local allies.
