Australian Rate Decision Due On Tuesday

(RTTNews) - The Reserve Bank of Australia will on Tuesday conclude its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. The central bank is widely expected to keep rates on hold at the current level of 3.50 percent.

New Zealand will release Q2 figures for average hourly earnings, with analysts expecting an increase of 0.5 percent on quarter following the 1.3 percent jump in the first quarter. Private wages excluding overtime are expected to remain steady at 0.5 percent, while private sector labor costs are expected to add 0.6 percent, up from 0.5 percent in the previous three months.

The Philippines will see July numbers for consumer prices, as well as June figures for producer prices. CPI is expected to add 0.2 percent on month and 3.0 percent on year after rising 0.5 percent on month and 2.8 percent on year in June. PPI was up 1.6 percent on year in May and down 0.2 percent on month.
