Russian Manufacturing Activity Improves In July

(RTTNews) - Russian manufacturing sector expanded at a slightly faster pace in July, but still remained on a weak growth trajectory, a survey by Markit Economics showed Wednesday.

The HSBC Purchasing Managers' Index improved to 52 in July from 51 in June. The index remained above 50 for the tenth month running, signaling an overall improvement in business conditions.

Both new orders and production rose at faster rates during the month, but growth rates remained slower than the long-run survey trends.

The level of employment stabilized following June's marginal fall, while inflationary pressures remained relatively weak.
