Comcast Corp. rose $.16 or .5 percent, to $30.83.

Walt Disney Co. rose $.07 or .1 percent, to $47.47.

Gannett rose $.03 or .2 percent, to $13.50.

New York Times Co. rose $.05 or .7 percent, to $6.89.

News Corp. rose $.15 or .7 percent, to $20.57.

Time Warner Inc. rose $.22 or .6 percent, to $37.49.

Viacom Inc. fell $.39 or .7 percent, to $52.33.
