Obama: Euro crisis could affect my re-election

(AP:LOS CABOS, Mexico) President Barack Obama is acknowledging that Europe's economic situation could have a spillover effect on his own re-election prospects.

Departing the Group of 20 economic summit in Mexico on Tuesday, the president expressed confidence in Europe's ability to right its own financial ship.

Facing his own economic problems at home, Obama said if the U.S. took "the right policy steps," and did the right thing, "then the politics will follow."

He said Congress needed to focus on proposals that would boost job creation and economic growth. He has pressed House Republicans to support parts of a jobs agenda that has not advanced in Congress so far.
