(AP:NEW YORK) Shares of some top insurance companies are mixed at 1 p.m.:

ACE L rose $.22 or .2 percent, to $86.84.

Aflac Inc. fell $.61 or 1.2 percent, to $50.96.

American International Group rose $.59 or 1.5 percent, to $39.60.

MBIA fell $.16 or 1.2 percent, to $12.65.

MGIC Investments Corp. fell $.04 or .8 percent, to $4.88.

MetLife rose $1.37 or 3.7 percent, to $38.58.

XL Group PLC rose $.18 or .6 percent, to $29.71.
