Walt Disney Co. fell $1.01 or 2.0 percent, to $49.07.

Gannett rose $.03 or .2 percent, to $16.78.

New York Times Co. fell $.12 or 1.5 percent, to $8.07.

News Corp. rose $.11 or .5 percent, to $24.32.

Time Warner Inc. fell $.64 or 1.5 percent, to $43.00.

Viacom Inc. fell $1.19 or 2.2 percent, to $51.88.
