(AP:NEW YORK) A look at the 10 biggest volume gainers on New York Stock Exchange at the close of trading:
Abbott Laboratories : Approximately 33,362,500 shares changed hands, a 494.7 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $2.40 or 3.5 percent to $66.64.
BioMed Realty Trust Inc. : Approximately 9,742,300 shares changed hands, a 938.8 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.18 or .9 percent to $19.56.
Cedar Realty Trust Inc. : Approximately 2,019,000 shares changed hands, a 561.7 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.25 or 4.5 percent to $5.30.
Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. : Approximately 3,400,000 shares changed hands, a 1,245.8 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $4.50 or 19.1 percent to $28.06.
