Becton, Dickinson & Co. fell $.19 or .2 percent, to $76.89.

Covidien fell $.66 or 1.1 percent, to $57.52.

Patterson fell $.48 or 1.4 percent, to $33.92.

PerkinElmer fell $1.05 or 3.4 percent, to $29.43.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. fell $1.53 or 2.5 percent, to $59.00.

Varian Medical Systems Inc. fell $.60 or 1.0 percent, to $59.14.

Waters fell $1.01 or 1.2 percent, to $81.10.
