Bank of America Corp. rose 1.6 percent to $9.55 with 318,953,700 shares traded.

Chimera Investment fell 2.2 percent to $2.72 with 42,457,000 shares traded.

Citigroup Inc. rose 1.0 percent to $34.79 with 57,279,900 shares traded.

Ford Motor Co. rose 1.8 percent to $10.53 with 55,326,700 shares traded.

General Electric Co. rose .4 percent to $22.11 with 87,098,400 shares traded.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. rose .4 percent to $41.57 with 41,016,900 shares traded.

Pfizer Inc. fell 1.9 percent to $23.80 with 58,523,400 shares traded.

Sprint Nextel Corp. rose 1.2 percent to $5.26 with 54,770,000 shares traded.
