Alpha Natural Resources Inc. fell 7.8 percent to $7.88 with 33,092,200 shares traded.

Bank of America Corp. fell 2.4 percent to $9.12 with 148,334,100 shares traded.

Citigroup Inc. fell 2.2 percent to $34.75 with 41,342,000 shares traded.

General Electric Co. fell .1 percent to $22.48 with 31,074,000 shares traded.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. fell 1.1 percent to $41.62 with 40,879,400 shares traded.

Kinder Morgan Inc. fell 1.7 percent to $34.50 with 35,667,300 shares traded.
