(AP:NEW YORK) Shares of some top utilities companies were mixed at the close of trading:

American Electric Power Co. fell $.06 or .1 percent, to $43.46.

Consolidated Edison Inc. Holding Co. fell $.43 or .7 percent, to $60.63.

Dominion Resources Inc. fell $.61 or 1.1 percent, to $53.16.

Duke Energy Corp. fell $.28 or .4 percent, to $64.72.

Exelon fell $.05 or .1 percent, to $36.15.

PG&E rose $.28 or .6 percent, to $43.47.

Southern Co. fell $.16 or .3 percent, to $45.91.
