(AP:NEW YORK) Shares of some top biotechnology companies were up at the close of trading:

Amgen Inc. rose $.73 or .9 percent, to $84.81.

Biogen Idec rose $5.52 or 3.8 percent, to $152.19.

Celgene Corp. rose $3.53 or 5.0 percent, to $74.49.

Gilead Sciences Inc. rose $1.05 or 1.8 percent, to $59.49.
