Bank of America Corp. rose 2.0 percent to $7.31 with 142,126,300 shares traded.

Chimera Investment rose 7.0 percent to $2.28 with 33,251,900 shares traded.

Citigroup Inc. rose 3.9 percent to $27.30 with 51,186,300 shares traded.

Ford Motor Co. rose .4 percent to $9.00 with 67,341,800 shares traded.

General Electric Co. rose 1.8 percent to $20.92 with 70,846,800 shares traded.
