American Electric Power Co. rose $.47 or 1.1 percent, to $42.42.

Consolidated Edison Inc. Holding Co. rose $.48 or .7 percent, to $64.90.

Dominion Resources Inc. rose $.84 or 1.6 percent, to $54.97.

Duke Energy Corp. rose $.12 or .2 percent, to $67.46.

Exelon rose $.39 or 1.0 percent, to $39.37.

PG&E rose $.44 or 1.0 percent, to $46.11.

Southern Co. rose $.34 or .7 percent, to $48.42.
