(AP:NEW YORK) Shares of some top pharmaceuticals companies were up at the close of trading:

Baxter International Inc. rose $1.96 or 3.4 percent, to $59.70.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. rose $.25 or .7 percent, to $36.05.

Hospira rose $.58 or 1.7 percent, to $35.08.

Johnson & Johnson rose $.78 or 1.1 percent, to $69.52.

Eli Lilly & Co. rose $.76 or 1.7 percent, to $44.37.

Merck rose $1.77 or 4.1 percent, to $45.10.

Pfizer rose $.34 or 1.4 percent, to $23.83.
