American Express Co. rose $.77 or 1.3 percent, to $58.53.

Capital One Financial Corp. rose $1.24 or 2.2 percent, to $57.60.

Discover Financial Services rose $.88 or 2.5 percent, to $36.41.

Mastercard rose $12.98 or 3.1 percent, to $436.75.

Visa Inc. rose $2.37 or 1.9 percent, to $129.14.
