Walt Disney Co. fell $.55 or 1.1 percent, to $49.49.

Gannett fell $.08 or .5 percent, to $15.10.

New York Times Co. fell $.12 or 1.2 percent, to $9.15.

News Corp. fell $.24 or 1.0 percent, to $23.37.

Time Warner Inc. fell $.23 or .5 percent, to $41.62.

Viacom Inc. fell $.48 or .9 percent, to $50.15.
