Alpha Natural Resources Inc. rose 1.4 percent to $7.35 with 23,895,900 shares traded.

Bank of America Corp. rose .3 percent to $7.74 with 48,378,700 shares traded.

Citigroup Inc. rose .1 percent to $28.90 with 25,123,100 shares traded.

General Electric Co. rose .2 percent to $21.10 with 24,066,600 shares traded.

GenOn Energy Inc. fell 1.2 percent to $2.49 with 22,518,300 shares traded.

Janus Capital Group rose 10.0 percent to $8.46 with 20,237,300 shares traded.

Kinder Morgan Inc. fell 3.3 percent to $34.64 with 21,613,200 shares traded.

Manchester United Ltd. was unchanged at $14.00 with 31,782,000 shares traded.

J.C. Penney Co. rose 5.9 percent to $23.40 with 43,302,100 shares traded.

Sprint Nextel Corp. rose 2.5 percent to $4.92 with 70,272,300 shares traded.
