American International Group rose 2.8 percent to $32.23 with 29,193,600 shares traded.

Bank of America Corp. rose 2.8 percent to $7.64 with 65,298,000 shares traded.

Best Buy Co. rose 11.1 percent to $19.60 with 31,011,900 shares traded.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. fell .4 percent to $17.82 with 15,064,300 shares traded.

Chimera Investment rose 1.2 percent to $2.19 with 13,375,800 shares traded.

Citigroup Inc. rose 3.9 percent to $28.48 with 25,125,000 shares traded.

General Electric Co. rose .7 percent to $21.12 with 19,944,900 shares traded.

Knight Capital Group fell 21.0 percent to $3.20 with 66,605,400 shares traded.

Pfizer Inc. was unchanged at $24.29 with 14,017,200 shares traded.

Sprint Nextel Corp. rose 1.6 percent to $4.34 with 15,404,100 shares traded.
