Moldovan Output Price Inflation Weakens To 13-Month Low

(RTTNews) - Moldova's producer price inflation slowed to the lowest level in thirteen months in May, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.

The producer price index increased 5.7 percent from last year in May, following the previous month's 5.8 percent growth. The latest growth rate was the smallest since April 2011, when prices gained 5.5 percent.

Prices in the manufacturing industry rose 5 percent annually, while mining and quarrying prices decreased 0.1 percent. There was a 9.9 percent annual growth in output prices of electricity and heat during the month.

Month-on-month, output prices rose 1 percent in May, after holding flat in April, data showed.
