Study:China Lower Risk Than UK For Green Investment -Newspaper12 days ago
LONDON (Dow Jones)--The U.K does not have the right climate change strategy to attract international investment and is lagging behind countries such as China, according to a new study from Deutsche Bank, The Observer reports Sunday.
The paper says the bank's findings condemning UK energy strategy are set to embarrass the U.K government as it prepares to reveal new climate change initiatives Monday.
The U.K.'s energy strategy lacks the level of transparency and certainty required to encourage investment, according to the bank's study on the best places to do business, it reports.
It quotes Kevin Parker, global head of Deutsche Bank's asset management division, saying: "What investors want is transparency, longevity and certainty in policy regimes to mobilize capital."
The paper adds Deutsche Bank rankings show China has a lower risk for climate change investors, alongside Germany.
