KAMPALA, Uganda (Dow Jones)--Uganda's October coffee exports rose 11% on year on account of improved farm gate prices which prompted farmers to release more stocks to the market, the state-run Uganda Coffee Development Authority said Friday.

Total Chinese centrifugal sugar output is forecast to decrease 1% to 13.2 million metric tons (raw value) in marketing year 2009-10.

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Selling left ICE Futures U.S. world raw sugar 3.5% lower Thursday as prices failed to push beyond a pivotal technical chart point against a backdrop of generally weaker commodities markets.

BOGOTA (Dow Jones)--Physical trading was quiet this week in the Colombian cash arabica coffee market as supply flow from the new 2009-10 harvest failed to pick up, traders and exporters said Thursday.

SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--Coffee prices in Asia fell from a week ago amid limited fresh supplies, as shippers in Vietnam lowered bid prices given the imminent harvest, while farmers were unwilling to sell at low prices.

Arabica coffee futures closed higher Thursday on speculative fund buying, spread trading and gains on Wall Street. .
