Bomb Injures Three In Pakistan's Peshawar City 75 days ago
(RTTNews) - A roadside bomb blast Thursday in the violence-plagued northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar has injured three persons, including a police officer and a child--the latest in a series of suicide-attacks and bombings that has rocked Peshawar and claimed hundreds of lives.
Station House Officer Riazul Islam and his bodyguard were on their way to the police station at Faqirabad when their car was targeted with a remote-controlled bomb planted in an electric pylon near a school on Charsadda Road--a residential area of Peshawar.
Islam, his bodyguard and a young girl who was passing by were injured in the attack and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors said they were out of danger. The police officer's car and an electric transformer were damaged by the blast.
Police officials said the bomb, wrapped in a packet, contained about two kilograms of explosives and was packed with steel pellets to inflict maximum injuries.
