IMF: Senegal's Economic Growth Would Rise To 3.5% In 2010 82 days ago
(RTTNews) - Senegal's economy may expand 3.5% next year, in tandem with the expected global recovery and due to the government's appropriate economic policies, the International Monetary Fund said Wednesday. Growth is expected to slow to 1.25% in 2009 from an already depressed 2.5% in 2008.
In a statement at the conclusion of an IMF staff mission to Senegal, the IMF said, "The global financial crisis and domestic shocks are affecting Senegal's economy."
Annual inflation, which was negative during the past few months, is expected to gradually return to about 2% in 2010.
