Four Injured In Bangladesh Bomb Blast 95 days ago
(RTTNews) - Bangladeshi police say more than four persons were injured in the capital Dhaka Thursday when a bomb exploded in a crowded commercial area near the Awami League's party headquarters.
A deputy police commissioner said the blast took place between a crowded downtown shopping mall and the party's central office and left two Awami League leaders and two passer-by wounded.
Local police chief said that the injured in Thursday's blast were taken to hospital with minor wounds.
"One of the injured is a ruling party official from the southern Bagerhat district," he said, adding that it was not known who was behind the attack.
The blast came three weeks after another explosion in Dhaka in which 15 persons were injured. The blast targeted lawmaker Fazle Noor Tapash, a relative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, but 13 other persons were injured.
Bangladeshi police have detained more than 20 persons in connection with the October 21 attack, suspecting that they might have been trying to jeopardize the trial into the killing of the country's founder, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
