(RTTNews) - Japanese auto production declined in September, largely reflecting reduced demand from China, data published by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association showed Tuesday. Domestic sales also logged a moderate fall in September.
Automobile production dropped by 12.4 percent from a year ago to 773,990 units. Domestic sales of automobile decreased 3.4 percent annually, while automobile exports came in at 384,068 units, down 19.6 percent.
During the first half of fiscal year, automobile production advanced 25.7 percent after last year's downturn, the report said.
At the same time, motorcycle production slipped 19.1 percent in September from a year ago to 46,509 units.
