UK Retail Sales Increase In September - BRC

(RTTNews) - Retail sales in the United Kingdom rose more than expected in September, according to the British Retail Consortium.
BRC's retail sales monitor showed a 3.4 percent rise in overall sales from a year earlier.
Same store sales volumes increased 1.5 percent on year.
In August, overall sales were up 1.6 percent and same store sales were up 0.3 percent.
The BRC said strong sales for winter clothing helped push the sales figures higher.
