Germany August Industrial Production Drops Less Than Expected

(RTTNews) - Germany's industrial production decreased in August after recording growth in the previous month, but the rate of fall was lower than economists expected, preliminary data released by the Ministry of Economics and Technology showed Monday.
Industrial production declined a seasonally and calendar adjusted 0.5 percent month-on-month in August, reversing the previous month's 1.3 percent rise. Economists had forecast a slightly faster decline of 0.6 percent.
In the two months ended August, industrial production increased 0.8 percent from the preceding two-month period. Year-on-year, output decreased 1.3 percent during the period, data showed.
